All this cold water torture has been for a reason!

When I started to realise how painful swimming in cold water was, and how much I dread it every time – that walk down the beach towards the icy depths is horrendous – I decided a higher purpose might help me get in and enjoy the suffering.
So, ladies and gentlemen, I bring you my VirginMoneyGiving fundraising page to support my Channel swimming efforts.

Three wonderful charities will benefit:
Home Start Winchester & Districts who provide support, practical and emotional help, and friendship to families with small children.
Wellbeing of Women who provide funds to research to improve the health of women and babies.
Friends of the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra who pay for or subsidise a huge amount of the orchestra’s running costs including  music,  instruments, costs for some musicians, music, venue hire and even van hire – those harps and kettle drums won’t fit in the average car boot!).
I’m swimming the Channel as part of a relay team in September 2013.  My team, the Seabrook Space Cadets, is Jo Baynham, Gary Butcher, Ali Budynkiewicz,  Keith Cummings and Sarah Pascoe.
